SHORT COURSES IN GENDER STUDIES
In line with provisions of the National policy of Nigeria and the decision of the 10th Regular of the National Council on Women Affairs and Social Development, the Centre has institutionalized short courses in various specialties of Gender Studies.

The National Centre for Women Development having complied with all the requirement of the Federal Ministry of Education is approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to operate as both a Vocational Enterprise Institution and Innovation Enterprise Institution. Accordingly, the certificates awarded by the Centre upon successful graduation are nationally and internationally recognized for purposes of furthering one’s academic pursuit and for white collar employment. The Vocational Courses run by the Center are categorized three broad classification viz: National Innovative Diploma (NID) Courses; National Vocational Certificate (NVC) Courses and the regular Vocational Courses of the Centre. These courses are spiced with lectures geared towards personal development such as studies in Gender Awareness, Human Rights, Management Skills and Health.

DAYCARE AND CRECHE
The Crèche was established in July 1999 as a support Unit to take care of babies from 4 months to 18 months.
Master of Arts (MA) Degree in Gender Studies And Master of Arts (MA) Degree in Gender and Peace Building
In line with United Nations Security Resolution 1325, and relevant provisions of the National Policy of Nigeria (particularly BOX 5.5), the Centre in partnership with the University of Abuja is running a collaborative Master of Arts (MA) Degree Programme in Gender Studies, and for which the University of Abuja under relevant provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding is allowed to award the degree. The Center has another Memorandum of Understanding and a subsidiary agreement with the University of Benin, Benin City to run another collaborative and specialized Master of arts Degree programme in Gender and Peace Building. In line with provisions of relevant statutes, the programme is aimed at training Gender Desk Officers of line Ministries, Personnel of Labour and Women Development Associations; Community Leaders; Personnel of Military and Para-military organizations and Development Practitioners. The programmes are also aimed at up-dating the skills of relevant Staff of Federal and State Ministries of Women Affairs on current gender practice, in line with global regional and national commitments.
